Taranaki Anniversary weekend trip

We are organising a trip to the Central Plateau for 12-14 March. The basic plan is:

• cycle the Pukehinau Loop (28km, grade 3, from SH47 along part of 42 Traverse and back out to SH47, including visit to Okupata Caves)
• 

• cycle the 'new' Old Coach Rd (part of the National Cycleway, 14km descent, grade 2, from Horopito to Ohakune via the spectacular Hapuawhenua viaduct and old tunnel)



• tramp somewhere (Lake Surprise?), or another ride



• staying for 3 nights in a ski lodge in Ohakune ($20 per night)



• activities can be moved around to suit the group and the weather

So there is a bit of biking planned, but alternate tramping activities or sightseeing are available.
