Important announcement

At the AGM on Tuesday 29th March 2016 it was decided that KOPAC would cease it's active program as membership has declined significantly. The Club has not wound up, just taking a recess until it is deemed appropriate to start up again.

KOPAC Lodge

The eco friendly club lodge is nestled beneath the mountain, beside Cold Creek. With sleeping for 11+ indoors and room for tents outside it makes good use of this small area. We have installed all the mod cons - log fire, gas cooker, hot shower, flush toilet, solar lights.

Activities in the area include a working replica water wheel, glow worms aplenty and local bush walks. Or solitude, peace and quiet - something to suit everyone. To rent the Lodge costs $10 per adult, $5 per child per night and can be arranged by contacting our Booking Officer Neil Higgins 06 764 6412.

Note: Access to the Lodge is through private property and only available via a booking. NO DOGS on farmland, at the Lodge or in the National Park

AGM Tuesday 29th March 2016

Tues 29th Mar, AGM (followed by committee meeting). 7.30 pm at Sinclairs, 8 Kapu Grove, New Plymouth.
All welcome to discuss the future of the Club.

AGM Agenda item:
Discussion regarding winding up of the Club.   Some thoughts: -

·         If the Club is to continue we will need a new president as Sharon has indicated (a number of times) that she wishes to step down. Don’t see anyone interested in the job.
·         No new members since ages ago
·         Many trips planned but few completed
·         Only regulars are 6 of us, with 2 more on occasion
·         Struggling to fill the calendar as we are all busy doing other things
·         It’s a great social event when we have the committee meetings
·         We will need to change the constitution if the Club continues as TSAREO is no longer in existence and is mentioned with reference to winding up the Club.
