Program for Aug - Sept 2015

2 Aug – Orienteering, urban rogaine. Starting at Westown School, Sanders Ave, registration 11.30am for noon start, up to 3 hours for the event. Suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists. Cost $10 per team ($5 junior), bring a pen to record the answers. Contact Jacqui 7510676

5 Aug – NZ Mountain Film Festival, Events Cinema, 6.30pm Tickets $10 from Kiwi Outdoors

9 Aug - Kiri Track from Carrington Rd to Plymouth Track and return. Meet at Carrington Rd track end 10am, Contact Len A

16 Aug - KOPAC Lodge to Plane Wreck: - Up to RTM and back through the bush. Meet at Lodge 10am.

 Tues 25 Aug – A night at the Observatory, Marsland Hill, Robe St. 7.30 to 9pm, best to go if the sky is clear. $5 adults, $3 children. The guys are there regardless of the weather as there is always something interesting to see besides stars and planets.

30 Aug - The Airdale Shipwreck Walk: -   Meet 2.00 p.m. at Waitara Golf Club, Mouatt St. Waitara. Tide is 0.1 m at 4.00 p.m.

6 Sept - Kahui Hut and explore Maru Pa. Meet at road end 10am, Contact Sharon

13 Sept – Orienteering on the Ratapihipihi map. Starts between noon and 1.30pm start location to be advised. See orienteeringtaranaki.org.nz for updates, or contact Jacqui 7510676

20 Sept – Stoney River exploring the latest changes to the river, and the Maero Stream Contact Len A

27 Sept - Kaitaki tramp. Lucy’s Gully to summit and return. Meet at Lucy’s Gully 10am Contact Sharon

Tues 29 Sept – Photo competition results night at Sinclairs  7.30pm, preceded by a quick committee meeting at 7pm

NZ Mountain Film Festival 5th Aug - Events Cinema


The Taranaki Alpine Club is happy to bring the NZ Mountain Film Festival to New Plymouth:
Wednesday 5th August at 6.30pm at the Events Cinema.
On offer is a selection of the best films screened during the recent Mountain Film Festival in Queenstown including the Grand Prize Winner: Myanmar: Bridges to Change as well as
El Sendero Luminoso, voted Festival’s Best Short Film and 2 Minute Men voted Best NZ Made Film


Everybody welcome, you don’t have to be an Alpine Club member to attend.
